d e s i g n :
the first of likely many sunset quilts was inspired by the most amazingly perfect and vibrant sunset out in joshua tree, california, back in december of 2016 (see last photo in this listing for original sunset snapshot!). a friend and i chased the sunset down a seemingly never-ending dirt road all the way to a tiny hole in the wall bar in the middle of the desert.
"and i've got
no illusions about you
and guess what
i never did
so when i said
i'll take it
the variety of bright fabrics are a mix of kona cotton solids, hand dyed fabrics sourced from around the country made by small businesses, and recycled linens (sheets, pillowcases). i love using recycled/reused/repurposed fabrics in an effort to reduce waste, and also because i believe that fabrics which have already been used carry stories of their own.
note: due to the nature of recycled fabrics being pre-used, any markings, discoloration, or any other "spots" on these fabrics are to be considered part of the fabric itself. each has been washed before being put into the creations.
all of my items are handmade by me, with love, as one-of-a-kind pieces of usable and functional art.

this quilt measures 61"x76". it has been quilted with a contrasting hot pink thread using 80/20 cotton/poly batting, and is backed with the softest light blue flowered vintage sheet. the binding is a fun pink-ish print.
this quilt is machine washable on cold and may be tumble dried on low.
